I did do some googling to try to find just that sort of info but it is quickly apparent that it's impossible to google for information about porn without turning up a plethora of the stuff itself. And then for some reason my attention would wander and I would forget what I was looking for.

Let me know if you ever find any info, though, and thanks for checking in.

JJ Ballothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04744685206784758595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14169144.post-1159906539216016012006-10-03T16:15:00.000-04:002006-10-03T16:15:00.000-04:00What sources do you have for stats on the size of ...What sources do you have for stats on the size of the porn industry in and outside of the "hospitality" industry?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14169144.post-1156882690024115002006-08-29T16:18:00.000-04:002006-08-29T16:18:00.000-04:00I hope ZaZel wasn't on that list! When I said "greed" I was actually referring to the politicians. My original post was much smaller than I wanted it to be--I was going to go into this really long rant but decided to give an abbreviated version. Here are my additional thoughts in nutshell. I think when congress shouts "gay marriage!", they know the religious right will come running with political support, and pocketbooks open. If congress were to shout a warning of "porn!", the religious right will come running again, but the lobbyists for the telecommunications will also come running, waving their pocketbooks in the air, reminding them that campaign contributions will be a wee bit smaller. I guess I was just trying to say that the politicians won't act out of any sense of integrity, no matter their beliefs on the issue; it boils down to who's willing to pony up the most for their campaigns.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14169144.post-1156827787713528942006-08-29T01:03:00.000-04:002006-08-29T01:03:00.000-04:00Well, life is not about butthole pleasures; but it...Well, life is not about butthole pleasures; but it sure is about Milk and Cokies after School!
some of the responses to this on fark were funnier than German midget porn, which you can now find at any hotel, because they also offer high speed internet access.
/if you resist the sophomoric humor urge, you can always count on me.
//well, except for right now
///can't think of anything mildly amusing to say
//// words are just rock hard to come by now. In essence it's no greedier than Coca-Cola serving thirsty people.

And since people tend to indicate what they truly want by how they spend money, it isn't really fair to call it "greed" when consumers are receiving a service that they clearly value more than the dollars it costs.

The service is probably a bit unsavory for a mainstream hotel chain to provide, but that's a matter of taste, I suppose.

Mark,

Indeed! If this blog were some "Daily Show" inspired news site, I'd think Abe would be the logical choice for 'porn correspondent.' Anything to abdicate personal responsibility. They nailed it on the head here, though--of course it's about money. They still go for the easy target, though, and pick on the relatively obscure Liberty Media Corp. Major telecommunications corporations have their hand in this business (I can't believe I just wrote that.) It goes deeper and wider than they can handle. (I can't believe I wrote that, either.) DIstribution channels for pornography have been mainstream long enough so that the amount of money involved is just staggering, as noted in the article. Too many people stand to lose too much--including their beloved politicians. Here's a case where greed actually serves the greater good of personal freedom.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
